Super Smash Bros. Leaks!
With the upcoming 3.0 update that will finally release the long-waited Joker from Persona 5 and a brand new mode, there have been many leaks, data mines, and rumors regarding the eventual update that, although they haven’t been confirmed yet (aside from one thing in particular), only time could tell.
One of the data mines suggests that the stage that’ll come along with Joker is called “Mementos”, which is a location in Persona 5. It was found within the game’s files lying amongst strings and matches the format of stage name strings (“[Series]_[Stage]”).
Another leak was done by Best Buy nearing the end of March and start of April when they possibly published the render of Joker ahead of schedule.
Finally, a new leak was done by Nintendo itself in a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate commercial. In the first two seconds of the video, a person picks up a controller in front of a TV screen playing Smash Bros., with a new, unfamiliar mode blurred that could be made out to be “Stage Builder”.
Stage Builder is a mode that first premiered in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and returned to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Stage Builder allowed players to create stages of their own choosing with the toolset provided. With its confirmed return to Ultimate, surely the mode is bound to change considering the feedback for Stage Builder was that the Brawl version was preferred over the Wii U’s.
A very recent leak suggests that Update 3.0 will release on the 19th of April, along with a very new online mode similar to the For Glory online mode on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.
There’s a lot to arrive and expect, so stay tuned for what’s new once the update finally drops!
