What’s Different?

While Command Ratings have remained mostly the same, Member Ratings have been thematically rebranded and now each serve a different function. Additionally, we’ve introduced a new way to get promoted, and a Rebel Cash payout for several ranks.

Function & Promotion System

Previously, the Member Ratings were based on activity in the RF Hub Discord. Promotion was determined solely by how active a member was, which didn’t accurately track their engagement within the community. Members moved up simply by spending time in the Hub, without any connection to leadership roles or community involvement.

This update brings more functionality to the Member Ratings. Now, in addition to reflecting activity, the ratings reflect your experience and role within the Rebel Federation. This allows members to be promoted in two ways:

  1. Activity-Based Promotion: As before, being active in the RF Hub Discord still counts towards your progression through the ranks.
  2. Experience-Based Promotion: Members can now be promoted based on their contributions and roles within the community. For example, Member Grade can move up to Division or Team Member Grade by joining a Division or Team, regardless of their Hub activity level.

In other words, you can now rise through the ranks either by being highly active in the Hub or by taking on new roles and contributing to the growth of the RF. The new system not only rewards activity, but also highlights Members’ broader contributions to the community.

This dual path for promotion gives more meaning to the Member Ratings and better conveys the progress a member naturally makes within the RF. It’s no longer just about time spent online—it’s about how you contribute and where you fit into the leadership structure.

Member Rating Theme

Previously, the Member Ratings followed a metal tier theme, progressing from Copper Member through Platinum Member, and ending with the exceptional Diamond Member. While this system served well to track activity levels, it failed to accurately measure a member’s experience within the Rebel Federation.

To better align our ranks with the involvement of our members, we’ve transitioned to a military theme for the upper Member Ratings, with lower Member Ratings directly mirroring their experience. With this new theme, each rating now denotes a specific level of maturity and readiness for different roles within the Federation. This approach not only clarifies pathways for progression, it also reinforces a sense of belonging and purpose within the Rebel Federation.

With that being said, more Member Rating themes may be introduced in the future, so keep an eye out for what’s in store (hint)!

Rebel Cash Salaries

What will doubtlessly be the most exciting part of this series of updates to some, certain ranks will now receive Rebel Cash salaries. Rebel Cash will be distributed to each Member Rating above New Member in the form of both a promotion bonus along with a weekly payout, as detailed below:

Member RatingPromotion BonusWeekly Payout
Member Grade250 Rebel Cash50 Rebel Cash
Division Member Grade500 Rebel Cash100 Rebel Cash
Team Member Grade1,000 Rebel Cash150 Rebel Cash
Ensign Grade2,000 Rebel Cash200 Rebel Cash
Lieutenant Grade4,000 Rebel Cash400 Rebel Cash

RF Members participating in a Team in any capacity will receive additional weekly payouts, further detailed:

  • Team Member — 200 additional Rebel Cash per week
  • Team Captain — 400 additional Rebel Cash per week
  • Team Olympia — 600 additional Rebel Cash per week

This feature aims to enhance our community by recognizing and rewarding active participation. By providing Rebel Cash based on the activity, experience, and contributions of our members, we hope to acknowledge their efforts and foster greater involvement within the Rebel Federation.

Why the Changes?

The Rebel Federation’s community ranks have been a topic of discussion for a while. Up until now, the Member Ratings only showcased how active someone was in the Hub. But our community isn’t just about activity—it’s about contributing, leading, and working together to make RF stronger, and we wanted the ranking system to reflect that. With this update, we’re making promotions available not just by being active, but by demonstrating leadership potential and a desire to engage as well.

These changes also help to better align the ranks with leadership roles. If you’re looking to take on more responsibility within RF, the new system makes it easier to see your path forward. By tying rank progression to both activity and experience, we’re ensuring that members can advance in a way that suits their strengths.

This update isn’t just about what’s happening now—it’s part of a bigger plan for the future. We’re laying the groundwork for more exciting updates that will continue to evolve our community. Some of these changes are still in development, so stay tuned for more!

The Road Ahead

As we move forward with these updates, we’re excited about what they mean for the future of the Rebel Federation. This represents a significant shift in how we recognize and reward our members, opening doors to new opportunities for growth and engagement within the community.

Our goal is to create a more engaging, interactive experience that allows each member to chart their own journey within RF. Whether you’re working your way through the ranks based on your activity in the Hub, or taking on a leadership role within a Division or Team, there’s something for everyone in this new system.

Your feedback is invaluable to us! We invite you to share your thoughts on these changes and any suggestions you may have for future improvements.

We look forward to seeing how each of you will do in your new roles! Thank you for being a part of this journey, and as always…

Fight the good fight.
